17 Headache Causing Nuisances On Facebook

Six in a row! Really, I got six Facebook friends requests in a matter of hours that had pictures of everything but themselves or were throwing up all over me with their product. Now, I am not going to call you out on your mistake in public (I will leave it to @unmarketing to “bounce” your arse), but I want to make you aware that there is a better way to interact. Together, we can make Facebook a much more pleasurable experience if we police it together.

Instead of me going on a rant on how aggravated I am with Facebook nuisances, my online friends did it for me. Today I asked, “What is your biggest Facebook pet peeve?”, and the results were quite humorous, but less than shocking.
Here are 17 Headache Causing Nuisances On Facebook:
“People who don’t use pictures of themselves.”
-Candy Brock Kloster
“People who use it for their explicit remarks. You wonder if they like spelling it better than saying it.”
-Felipe A. Ruiz
“My biggest pet peeve is when someone or some company has the audacity to try to use Facebook, Twitter, etc. to humiliate another. Which in return shows how not professional that person is to the whole social media world.”
-Ray Smith
“When people who don’t get social media spam you with incessant spam.”
-Debbie Romick-Schultz
“‘Please take the time to watch this video…’ in my inbox with a promotional video.
That, and tagging me in a note/video when you haven’t talked to me in months and I never said I enjoy your content.”
-Russell A. Yermal
“Bad grammar and awful spelling are my biggest Facebook pet peeves! If you’re going to promote yourself, a business, or even just keep in touch with friends, at least take a second to check and make sure what you said makes sense! No one wants to form a business relationship with someone who isn’t disciplined enough to pay attention to the little red line under your words!”
-Cody Jacobs
“Poking and flares and other puzzling, useless minutiae like lollipops and pillow fights (why?). It’s the equivalent of having your front yard littered with weeds and pink flamingos.”
Andrea Emerson
“All these goofy games like Farmtown, Mafia Wars, food fights, pillow fights, Bejeweled Blitz or Bling, whatever it’s called (by the way, I despise the word “bling”). Every time I hide one of these applications on my page, two more pop up! Who comes up with this time wasting garbage? Also, some of those Yearbook Yourself pictures are HIDEOUS!”
-Trent Wood
“Cursing and not using your real picture.”
-Michael Eiden
“My pet peeve is people who friend you, but do not engage! What the hell is the point? Numbers, you want numbers, here is a number (( ONE )), the loneliest number! That is where not taking the time to build relationships will lead you! ENGAGE and LOVE IT!!!”
-Harrison Painter
“Firefox doesn’t like FB’s Java script for uploading photos. It freezes often.”
-ChicagoPhotoSho
Lack of privacy! If my friends tagged in a non-friends photo album I can still see all the photos in that album.”
-TheNous81
“The barrage of unwanted party invitations sent to my inbox everyday!”
-ishholmes
“Any type of application updates. I could care less what 80s rock star you are.”
-sharepointac
“People posting the results of all the quizzes they take in the news-feed. No one cares what type of shoe you’d be…”
-Anna_Nowak
“Not being able to bookmark in the bottom interface of the browser, your own Fan page you created.”
-cesarabueg
“My biggest Facebook pet peeve is the inundated spam messages from the same event or group. They will send out 3-4 in one day. absolutely ridiculous!”
-Neil Thakkar
-Owen M Calkins Jr.
I will leave you with my two cents. The most aggravating thing I see on Facebook is when someone adds me on as a friend, we have 85 friends in common, and they have some stupid generic picture uploaded. Are you that freaking lazy? I don’t care if you only have one picture of your with an afro from the 70’s. This space is about authenticity and transparency. Please just upload a picture of YOU.
