Disagree

To me self made means: "if I didn't make the effort that I did, I wouldn't be where I am now"

Help, perhaps. Without handouts.

I would say that true choice, in the most authentic sense, comes from within. If we make choices unconsciously, that is reacting, versus choosing. We need to take time to sort out our true values, mission, and purpose, so that we can make our choices according to those values and goals.

Great angle Steve. We are all responsible for our own success and actions. Do you think that choice is something that stems from within or something this is fueled by our environment?

Thanks Chris, I like the way you put it. They are unaware. I think we are all unaware at one point. Just how I envisioned me saying I was a self-made millionaire. What is the turning point in your eyes where someone becomes more aware about success and money? Like the importance of it and about loving one's self.

Dude I am tweeting this quote out- "I do not want you to take my pain, my pain makes me who I am. Without it, I am nothing." -Captian Kirk

I love it. It means a lot to me. I have gone through much physical pain over the past few years and could not imagine not have gone through it. It made me so much stronger and aware. Thanks for sharing!

bradley will

Thanks Eric. Do you believe people that we feel we must prove wrong contribute to our success? Is there a way they can be given credit or does that look bad? Your thoughts?

bradley will

Thank you. So do you think then this word should be thrown out? I have a respect for anyone that creates success especially someone who has literally nothing. But when you come from nothing, I think even more so that others are contributing to ones success. Those words could look quite selfish if someone from a rags to riches story used it in the wrong context. What should someone in that "rags to riches" situation be called?
